Grimm Forge

Accessibility

Last updated: May 2026

Our Commitment

We are committed to making Grimm Forge accessible to as many players as possible. This is an independent project in active development, and we are continuously working to improve the accessibility of the game and website.

Current Status

The public website (grimmforge.com) uses semantic HTML, ARIA labels on interactive elements, and maintains visible focus indicators for keyboard navigation. Text contrast ratios meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards for the primary content areas.

The game itself is a visually intensive roguelike with time-sensitive combat. We acknowledge that some aspects of the game may present challenges for players with certain disabilities. We are actively working on options including adjustable text size, colour-blind-friendly UI modes, and reduced-motion settings.

Known Limitations

The combat screen currently relies on colour to convey some status information (e.g. buff/debuff colours). A colour-blind mode that adds text labels to all status effects is planned for a future update.

Some animated elements (screen shake, miasma overlay pulsing) may affect players with vestibular disorders. A reduced-motion option is on our roadmap.

Feedback

If you encounter an accessibility barrier or have a suggestion for improvement, please contact us at [email protected]. We read every message and take accessibility feedback seriously.

Technical Standards

We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This is an ongoing effort and we do not claim full conformance at this time. We will update this statement as improvements are made.
